Gloria Margaret Shelnutt

Gloria was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by faith, family, and friendship. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper and Vice President of Electro Power Inc. alongside her husband, where she was admired for her dedication, integrity, and strong work ethic.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe C. Shelnutt Jr.; her parents, Ben Boren Sr. and Frances Marion Boren; and her siblings, Ben Boren Jr., Jerry Russell, and Jeannie Mortesen.

Gloria is survived by her children: Melanie Shelnutt Nolan, Angela Shelnutt, and Joe C. Shelnutt III (Stacy); her grandchildren: Leah Ramirez, Polly Acker, and Joe C. Shelnutt IV (Caroline); and her great-grandchildren: Asher, Cora, Stella, Amelia, Madeleine, and Gracie.

A woman of deep faith, Gloria dearly loved her church and was an active member of the choir. She found joy in gardening, traveling, and spending time with her dogs. She especially loved music by The Gaither’s and never missed an opportunity to socialize with friends and family. Above all, she treasured time with her family, who were the center of her world.

Gloria will be remembered for her warm smile, generous heart, and the love she shared so freely with all who knew her. Her legacy of faith, kindness, and devotion will live on through the generations she so deeply cherished.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church of Benton on Thursday January 22, 2025 at 2:00 PM with a visitation starting one hour prior.
