Ivie Jo Lewis

She was born April 25, 1936, in Lamesa, Texas, to Powell and Ivie Thomas. Jo graduated from Dardanelle High School and married the love of her life, James Lewis, on April 24, 1955. They shared more than 50 years of marriage and built a life centered on faith and family.

Jo was a member of Park Place Baptist Church and a longtime former member of Temple Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the kitchen committee for many years. She expressed her love through cooking and baking and was especially known for her pineapple pie. She took pride in her home and yard, enjoyed gardening, puzzles, and games, and found joy in caring for others.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Lewis; her son, Allan Lewis and wife Connie; her granddaughter, Mary Johnson and husband Steven; her sister, Mary Helen Barnett; and many nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis; her daughter, Janet (Lewis) Kauffman; her parents, Powell and Ivie Thomas; and her brothers, Basil Thomas, Richard Thomas, and Carl Leonard Thomas.

Pallbearers will be Ron Grable, Louis Paukner, Austin Binz, Corbin Binz, Jeff Lewis, and Mitch Lewis.

A funeral service will be held on Monday February 9, 2026 at 1:00 PM at Pinecrest Funeral Home with a visitation being held one hour prior at 12:00 PM. Burial will follow the service at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
