Karen Powell

Karen worked as a Psychiatric Nurse at Arkansas State Hospital for over 30 years before retiring. While working there she met her husband, David Powell. Karen had a heart for helping others, she would help her daughter every year setting up her classroom and get ready for the school year. She was the best room mother. She enjoyed reading, sewing, woodworking and making furniture. Her favorite time spent though, was time with her best friend and daughter, Laura. Karen lived vicariously through Laura always encouraging her to go do things. Together, they enjoyed travelling local around Little Rock but also as far as Europe. Karen will be deeply missed by Laura and everyone who knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Laura Powell; and brother, Robert Kelly.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, David Powell; and her parents.

Visitation will be held 3:00 to 5:00 pm, Sunday, February 13, 2022 at Pinecrest Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 14, 2022 at Pinecrest Funeral Home.
