Larry Clifton Christian, 84 of Beebe passed away at home surrounded by family on Friday October 6,2023. Born on January 25, 1939 to Odie & Lalia Christian in Little Rock, Ar. He is preceded in death by his wife of 52 yrs. Kimiko Sugihara Christian, granddaughter Lauren Ashley Vance, Son-in-law Ricky Don Vance, his parents, brother Wayne Christian, sister Margie Curtis and nephew Randy Curtis. He is survived by his daughter Gwenn Christian-Vance, grandson Dylan Vance, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Larry started his military career in the Arkansas Air National Guard in February of 1955, this was followed by 2 year stint in the Air Force. He quickly decided that civilian life was not for him and joined the US Army. A 4 time Combat Vietnam Veteran he retired in 1978 to Tampa, Fl. Following his retirement he headed back to school and received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration in 1983. His heart was always in Arkansas so after 40 yrs. in the "Sunshine State" packed up and headed home in 2016.
The family would like to express heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful staff of Arkansas Hospice, particularly his nurse Barbara, for their exceptional care and compassion they provided Larry.
The family requests that memorials be made to "Recovery Unplugged" the first and only addiction treatment organization that fully utilizes and integrates music into their overall treatment process.
Visitation will be 1:00 PM, Friday, October 13, 2023 at Pinecrest Funeral Home, 7401 Hwy 5 N, Alexander, AR 72002. Funeral Service to start at 2:00 PM.
