It was there she met her husband Charles Judson King when he was stationed in Germany. They were married in 1960 in America and had two daughters, Anita Margarete and Stephenie Renee. They eventually settled down in Arkansas where they raised their daughters and lived a happy life.
Margarete, or more affectionately called “Grandma,” loved to tell her grandchildren the stories of growing up in Germany during and after the war. She felt a strong sense of appreciation living in America after battling hard times as a child. She was an avid reader of her Bible and loved to translate it between English and German.
She is preceded in death by her parents, four siblings, her husband Charles Judson King, as well as her daughter, Anita Margarete Qualls.
Survivors include daughter Stephenie King Buffalo (Joseph), grandchildren Krystal Qualls Collins (Duncan), Rachel Qualls, Joey Buffalo, one great-grandson Mack Collins, and her close friends and neighbors who cared for her every need, Don and Sandy White.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023, at 1:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Pinecrest Funeral Home, Alexander, Arkansas. Duncan Collins will officiate.
