Roger "Dale" Ridge

He learned at an early age that he wanted to be in law enforcement. He retired from Little Rock Police Department after working for over 20 years. Then went to Arkansas State Police and retired from there as well as being an instructor at the Arkansas Law Enforcement Academy. Whether he was in a patrol car, on a motorcycle, or at a desk as a detective he enjoyed protecting and serving his community. Dale also enjoyed woodworking, traveling, spending time with his family, and drinking his coffee.

Dale leaves behind his wife, Shirley Scruggs Ridge; children, Lisa Baxley (Ray),Timothy Ridge, and Mike Cathey; grandchildren, Robert Shell, Amanda Jones (Dustin), Haylee Chaney (David), Savanna Garrett (Ryan), Cameron Cathey, Parker Ridge, Brynnan Cathey, Alex Ridge, Melinda Angel (Bryan), Stephanie Nelson, London Howell; great grandchildren, Avery Nichols, Izzy Italiano, Edison Jones, Roland Chaney; siblings, Pat Fullerton (Ed) and Sandra Moore (Robert); special friend, Sonny Sears; and his two dogs, Cooper and Joey.

He is predeceased by his parents, Lowell Ridge and Lois Hawkins Ridge; daughter, Sherri Ridge Cathey; Daughter in law, Ashley Howell; sister, Dinah Abrams; brother, Adron Ridge.

A funeral will be held on Thursday June 12, 2025 at 12:00 PM with a visitation starting one hour prior at Pinecrest Funeral Home (7401 AR-5, Alexander, AR 72002) with burial to follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park.
