Ruby Sue Smith, 84, of Little Rock, born September 18, 1932 in Bauxite, Arkansas received her wings and new home in glory, on May 7, 2017, where she joins her parents Annie and Thomas Young Watson; brother James C. Watson; sister-in-law Barbara; sisters Murl Watson and Lillian Juanita Crook; brother-in-law Curtis (Big Curt) Crook. Those remaining here in this earthly home are: her husband of 66 years, Clyde Garland Smith of Little Rock; daughters: Nita (Richard) Clark of Little Rock; Joy Smith of Little Rock; Lisa Smith of Alexander; son Bradley Smith of Alexander; grandsons Brandon Smith of Alexander; Andrew (Gabrielle) Smith of Little Rock and Nathanial Smith of Benton; brother Curtis (Mary) Watson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was a lifelong active member of South Highland Baptist Church serving as: a choir member and choir director for the children’s choir; Sunday school teacher; and head of the bereavement committee. In 1956, she and her husband started Oak Forest Plumbing Co. With the office in the home she was able to participate in the young growing family’s school activities. We would like to thank all the staff at Saline Memorial Hospice, and those that volunteer and donate, for caring for her so that we could take the role of family again instead of caregiver. We would also like to thank Huckeby House ADHC for their part in enriching Mom’s life.
