Thelma P. Hunt of Little Rock entered into rest on May 16, 2014, at the age of 99. Bless her, for now she can see the Heavenly flowers and hear the bird’s sing of which she so loved. She was born on March 9, 1915 in Yellville, Arkansas to John Phillips and Audrey (Firestone) Phillips. Both of her parents died in the great flu epidemic of 1918, so Thelma and her two sisters were sent to live at the Masonic Home for Children in Batesville where they had a happy childhood and were loved by all. After graduating from High School, all three of the girls went on to nursing school and earned their R.N. Degree in 1937. Thelma was preceded in death by her husband W.T (Dub) Hunt and sister Opal McElroy. She is survived by her daughter Janet Sears and son Thomas Hunt; grandson T.J. Hunt; sister Florence Craig (103 years young) and numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to thank the wonderful and loving staff at Valley Ranch Nursing Facility for their gentle and faithful care. Graveside Services for Thelma will be held today, May 17th, 2:30 pm at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander, Arkansas. Please share your memories of Thelma at www.griffinleggett.com.
