Nécrologie de Brenda Joyce Wilson-Ward
Brenda Joyce “The BJ” Wilson-Ward was born April 29, 1947 and raised in the boogiedown Bronx, New York by her parents Minnie Roberson Peterson and Mingo Peterson. She passed away on December 15, 2023 at the age of 76. After graduating from the New York Public School system, she moved to the Washington, DC area, and eventually settled in Alexandria, Virginia. She held various positions but found after many years of working that she had a profound passion for serving and hosting events. She possessed a strong work ethic and was extremely proud of her position as an Office Assistant at the Federal Reserve Board. She worked there for over 25 years until she retired in 2019. BJ loved the Lord, and she loved learning about the Lord. She attended Bible Study regularly and even during the pandemic, continued to attend virtually. Anyone that interacted with her knew that they could count on receiving a birthday song, a phone call on every holiday and a nickname. She rarely called ANYONE by their given name. Of all her accomplishments, she was most proud to be the mother of her beloved children, Shanton and Mingo. She absolutely loved watching cartoons. Her long-time companion was a stuffed guerrilla named Jarvis. Brenda was preceded in death by her parents and her birth mother Doris Armstrong. She is survived by her daughter Shanton Kittler (Byron), son Mingo Peterson, grandchildren Marcel (Dawn), Dominique, Christopher, Mia, Xavier, Warren, Montrose, Autumn, Minga, Serenity, six great grandchildren, her sister Ava Thompson (Marshall), and her brother Barry Armstrong as well as a host of friends and relatives. To everything there is a season, A time for purpose under heaven: A time to be born, And a time to die: A time to plant, And a time to pluck what is planted; A time to kill, And a time to heal; A time to break down, And a time to build up; A time to weep, And a time to laugh; A time to mourn, And a time to dance; A time to cast away stones; A time to embrace, And a time to refrain from silence, And a time to speak; A time to love, And a time to hate; A time of war, And a time of peace. Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 NKJV
