Jeanette Leeman

Jeanette was born November 28, 1931 in Mt. Airy, Maryland to Harry W. Wright and Madeline C. Wright. She was the sister of the late J. Donald Wright. On November 17, 1951, she married the love of her life, A. William Leeman, Jr. Together the couple adopted two daughters. Jeanette was known for her giving, gentle spirit. She spent much of her time giving back to her community and family. She was an active member of her church, Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Alexandria, Virginia.

She is survived by her husband of 65 years, A. William Leeman, Jr; two daughters, Allison (Michael) L. Woods of Richmond, Virginia and Elizabeth (Douglas) L. Grimm of Grass Lake, Michigan; three grandsons, Liam M. Flaherty, J. Connor Grimm and A. Tyler Grimm and one granddaughter, H. Abigail Grimm.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Sunday, August 27, 2017 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia. A private interment will be conducted on Monday, August 28, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, 3411 Arlington Boulevard, Arlington, Virginia. For those attending the private interment, please arrive at the office of Columbia Gardens 15 minutes prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association In Memory of Jeanette Leeman at alz.org./donate.
