

Jennifer Allison Cooey of Woodbridge, Virginia, died unexpectedly on September 19, 2012. Jennifer was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1977. She lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for four years. Jennifer resided in Virginia for 30 years.
Jennifer was the loving mother of Leigh-Anne Cooey. Jennifer will be greatly missed by her mother, Mikiko and father, Robert Cooey of Alexandria Virginia. She was the granddaughter of Doris Cooey also of Alexandria. Jennifer’s sister, Liane Sakura Cooey, preceded her in death.
Jennifer graduated from Thomas Edison High School in Springfield, VA in 1995, with an Advanced Studies degree. She was a candidate for a Legal Assistant degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
She was an active outdoors person. Jennifer learned her first riding skills at Woodlawn Stables in Mt. Vernon, Virginia. Riding her horse “Birdie” in horse shows was both challenging and rewarding. She spent countless hours walking and playing with her Dalmatian Alex and her rescue dogs “Lucky” and “Binkie.”
Jennifer’s career included positions as an office manager, contracts manager, insurance customer service representative, and event planner.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 28 at 2:00 p.m. The service will be at Mt. Comfort Memorial Park, 6600 South Kings Highway in Alexandria. Friends should assemble by the cemetery office by 1:45 p.m.
