

Died suddenly December 28, 2014 at home in Alexandria, VA, age 78. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Kay was the daughter of Joseph and Ann Gleason O'Leary. She studied at Trinity University in Washington, DC (BA, MBA), and earned a certificate from the Harvard-Radcliffe Program in Business Administration. Kay worked in real estate banking in the Washington area for more than 20 years, most recently as Senior Vice President at Bank of America. She was a leader in many civic organizations, notably the League of Women Voters, and a longtime volunteer at Good Shepherd Catholic Church. She devoted her later years to her prize-winning decorative needlework. She is survived by her children Julie Al-Saadawi (Safa), Ann David (J. Carl Cinquino), Katherine David-Fox (Michael), Margaret David, Michael David (Joyce Shin), and Stephen David (Kathleen Hansen); stepchildren Jerome McQuie (Beth), Jenny McGurk (Wayne) and Julie McQuie; 15 grandchildren and three step-grandchildren; her sister Claire Stevenson and brother Gerald O'Leary. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert McQuie, brother Joseph O'Leary, and sister Nancy McDonald. Her first marriage, to Zdenek David, ended in divorce. Visitation Thursday, January 1, 4 to 6 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria. Funeral, Friday, January 2, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria.
