Kathleen Michael

Dr. Kathleen Michael, age 78, of Alexandria, VA, passed away on August 5, 2015. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio and was raised in Canonsburg, PA. Dr. Kathleen Michael was one of the first women to receive a PhD in education from George Washington University. She was well respected as an elementary school principal and an educator in Fairfax County, VA. In her later years, she enjoyed spending time between Alexandria, VA and Sarasota, FL.

Dr. Kathleen Michael is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years Frank Michael, and by her three daughters and their husbands, Dr. Beckie Michael and Dr. John Nutaitis; Dr. Christina Michael and Dr. Manny Silis; and Martha Boneta and John Anthony Boneta, Esq. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Alexandra Caroline, John Michael, Katerina Stephanie, Sophia Maria, and Joel Fotis.

Visitation will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 on Monday, August 17th from 4 to 8:00pm. Trisagion prayers will be at 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18th at 10:30am at St. Katherine's Greek Orthodox Church, 3149 Glen Carlyn Road, Falls Church, VA 22041. Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Katherine's Church.
