Margaret Slye

(Age 80)

Died peacefully on September 1, 2010 while surrounded by her loving husband and children. Margaret was a native Washingtonian and later lived in Alexandria, VA for over 30 years before retiring to Naples, FL.

Margaret is survived by her husband of 58 years, W. Frank Slye, and their five children: Susan Windland (Mark), John Slye (Donna), Jeanne Continetti (Frank), Toni Miller (Jeff), and Katie Allen (Bill) as well as seventeen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters: Anne Marie and Mary Margaret Slye and a grandson, Jeb Miller.

Her family will remember her as a most loving wife, mother, and nana. As she often said, she was fortunate to live her dream: “To be a good wife, a good mother, and an instrument of God’s love.” Margaret accomplished this lifetime goal many times over.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept 5th from 5 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St, Alexandria. A Mass will be celebrated on Monday, Sept 6th at 10:30 a.m. at St Mary’s Catholic Church, 310 S. Royal St, Alexandria.
