

A longtime resident of Alexandria died peacefully in her sleep on the morning of December 24, 2014 at Inova Mount Vernon Hospital. She was 89 years old. Born in Hartford Connecticut on May 18, 1925, she was the daughter of Marshall and Margaret Fleming Low. She was predeceased by her older sister Margaret Angela Low Meyers and younger brother James Patterson Low. She was the beloved wife of Captain Randolph Myers, Jr. (USN retired) and the mother of five children Randolph J. (Thelma) Myers, Steven F. (Renee) Myers, James G. (Karen) Myers, Jeffrey P. (Diane) Myers, and Margaret M. (Todd) Haymans. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. During and after World War II, she worked as a secretary, and after marriage she was a loving mother and wife, even after being stricken with Multiple Sclerosis in the late 1960s. She enjoyed many artistic interests and hobbies including drawing, painting, embroidery, reading and pursuing her lifelong love of flowers and birds.
The family will receive friends at a viewing at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia on January 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, Virginia on January 19 at 1:30pm. Interment will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
