Born in Queens, New York, she was the daughter of Gerald Edward Stack and Veralea Stack. A lifelong learner, she held two master’s degrees and spent her professional life working for the Federal Government. Her final role was with the Department of Veterans Affairs. She cared deeply for America’s veterans and was dedicated to supporting them.
Mary Kay had a deep love for animals and was a proud cat mom. She also volunteered at an animal shelter in Alexandria, offering her time and compassion to animals in need. A passionate swimmer, she found joy and peace in the water and could be found swimming laps throughout the year. She will be remembered for her extreme kindness and compassion.
Mary Kay cherished her sisters, nieces, nephew, and great-nieces and great-nephews. She is survived by her sister Deborah Stack and extended family members.
