She was preceded by her parents Bridget (Hurley) Heaton and Ralph Heaton, and her husband Fred Carroll Runfola.
She is survived by her children: Norberta Ann Stephenson (Jennings), Suzanne Weeks, Jacqueline Frances McGill (John), Dianne Cecelia Minikes (Stephan(D)), Peter Frederick Runfola (Jane), Bridget Maria Zagar (Hal(D)), and Robert Vincent Runfola; 15 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was born in New York City on July 21, 1921 and raised on Long Island. With her husband of 40 years, who worked in the automotive, aerospace, and defense industries, as well as, government; she lived in NY, VA, TN, MD, FL, MI, VA, & FL. She also worked while raising seven children. She retired from Palm Beach County government in 1993.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm pm Thursday, September 16th, 2021 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 17th, 2021 at the Basilica of Saint Mary, 310 S. Royal Street, Alexandria, VA 22314. Interment will occur at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, gifts are requested to charities benefiting Native Americans.
