Peggy Jones Holt

Mrs. Holt was born September 27, 1934 in Florence, Alabama to William Amos and Minnie Jones. She graduated from Coffee Memorial High School in 1952, and attended Florence State Teacher's College. She married Daniel "Rex" Holt of Cloverdale, Alabama on June 26, 1954. She was a faithful Christian, loving wife and mother, moving along with her husband and family to several duty stations around the world. She was active in the Garden Club of Waynewood, PTA, the Officers' Wives' Club, and served as President of the Washington, D.C. area Military Police Officers' Wives' Club.

She is survived by her husband, Rex; four children: Dave (Claire) of Newport News, VA; Harriet (Dave) Baker, of Virginia Beach, VA; Phyllis (Chris) Woodson, of Franklin, GA; and Joe (Deborah) of Maplewood, NJ; nine grandchildren: Drew Holt, Jordan Holt, Melissa Holt, Coleman Baker, Logan Baker, Daniel Woodson, Sawyer Woodson, Owen Holt and Catherine Holt; and her sister, Grace (Homer) Rutledge, of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; Peggy was predeceased in death by sisters Mary Moore and Catherine Berry.

Burial will take place at 1:00 p.m. on July 16, 2013 at Arlington National Cemetery.
