Dick was my brother and friend. We lived on opposite coasts but kept in touch. I’m grateful to have had him as a brother and friend. I will always miss him.
This, though, is a message of thanks for Dick’s close friends, Sarah and Ed Gardner, and their dog Sparky. They were his true family, there, and frequently “appeared” in his letters. They continued to care for his interests, after death, and secured a place for him at Arlington National Cemetery. Thank you!

Mr. Carpenter was one of my Contracting Officers when I was an intern back in the 90's. He and I were both from Minnesota and shared stories of growing up there. He was always kind, funny and patient. I loved working with him and I'm so sad that he's gone. My thoughts and prayers are with his loved ones.
