She was predeceased by her husband Ralph C. Newman Sr. in 1996.
Sara was born in Pennsylvania and moved to North Carolina after her marriage. She and her husband Ralph raised three children in Forest City, NC and later moved to Alexandria, VA, where she has lived for the past 50 years.
She is survived by her daughters Jane and Linda and her son Ralph. She has five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren that will all miss her very much. Her children and grandchildren mean the world to her. We all loved her very much.
The funeral services will be at Demaine Funeral Home at 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA on Tuesday, December 17, 2012. The viewing will be at 12p.m. followed by a service at 1p.m. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the National Cancer Society
