Alfred (Al) Walton Dabney, 87, of Maitland, Florida went to be with his Lord on Thursday, May 31, 2018. Born on September 25, 1930 to Sally Woolridge Dabney and Kyle Elliott Dabney III in Pendleton, Virginia. He is survived by his devoted wife, Norma Powers Dabney. They were married on May 9, 1953. They relocated to Maitland, Florida in 1966. He is also survived by nephews, Berkley Kyle Cosby and Kyle Dabney III, as well as two nieces, Joyce Richter, and Linda Horner. Al is preceded in passing by, two brothers, Kyle Elliott Dabney, Jr., and Robert Dabney as well as two sisters, Nadean Cosby, and Doris Dabney.
Al graduated from V.P.I and University in 1952 with a degree in economics. He was in the U.S. Army and served a tour of duty in Korea. He was a member of the V.F.W, the American Legion, and Rotary Club. Al taught school and was a school principal in Virginia. In Florida, he worked in various sales positions.
Services for Al will be held Monday, June 4 at 11am with a visitation from 10-11 at First Baptist Church of Maitland. 1950 Mohican Trail, Maitland, FL 32751. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be given to the first Baptist Church of Maitland.
