It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Alice Lee Carolyn Day. Alice passed surrounded by family and friends on December 27, 2025 at 88 years old in Altamonte Springs, FL.
Alice was born on August 3, 1937 in Orlando, FL. Being quite the traveller of the southeast, with her father serving in the military, she lived on several different bases from the panhandle to central Florida growing up before returning to Orlando. She was a graduate of Edgewater High School. After graduation she married and gave birth to her beloved son, Noal Day. They moved to Middlesboro, KY for a period of time where she was involved in many church activities, and even took some creative writing classes at Lincoln Memorial University. She always took great pride in her writing and contributed heavily to her church's newsletter, the East Cumberland Baptist "Chime".
Life brought Alice and Noal back to Central Florida, where she raised him and cared for her mother and step-father. She also began a long career as a switchboard operator working for Met- Life Insurance, then Hubbard Construction where she worked for more than 30 years. She made many lifelong friends there. Alice loved working for Hubbard and always participated in intramurals and sports teams for the company, but she especially loved softball and bowling.
Upon retirement, Alice, her sisters Linda and Sharon, her best friend Carolyn, and too many other friends to count would often take girls trips to Vero Beach, St. Augustine, Savannah, and more! She also spent any time she could with her two grandchildren, Lauren and Kramer, and even her granddogs. She loved watching football, emailing her sisters and family, and chatting on the phone any chance she could.
Her kindness and sweetness was a constant in everyone she met. Always laughing and smiling, and always exuding the utmost compassion and understanding for those around her, her personality and positivity was contagious to all that knew her.
Alice is survived by her son, Thomas "Noal" Day, daughter-in-law, Jodi Day, grandchildren Robert "Noal" Day (Kramer) and Lauren Day, sisters Linda Rice and Sharon Cox, nephews Tom Driscoll, Kenny Day, Chris Day, Cynthia Spitler, Tina Patterson, Craig Day, and many beloved great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is predeceased by her mother (Stella F Tillman), stepfather (Thomas J Tillman), father (Albert Holderbach) and brothers (Albert Tillman Jr and Herb Tillman).
The service for Alice will be held on Friday, January 2, 2026 at Baldwin-Fairchild in Altamonte Springs (994 E Altamonte Dr). Visitation will begin at 10AM, followed by the service at 11AM.
