Born on September 7, 1940, in Washington, Iowa, to Dr. Allen C. and Agnes (Sellars) Peterson, Ann enjoyed the idyllic childhood and life-long friendships found in her beloved hometown.
Ann graduated from Washington High School in Washington, IA and the University of Wisconsin – Madison before marrying Robert J. (“Bob”) Fritz of Appleton, WI, on March 9, 1963. During the early years of her marriage to Bob, Ann taught high school Spanish, French, and English in Fairfield, IA, Cedar Rapids, IA, and Park Ridge, IL. In 1973, Ann, Bob and their sons Robert A. (Rob) and David moved to Casselberry, FL, where Ann was a homemaker and community volunteer. She later earned her Masters of Education degree from Rollins College and resumed her teaching career, working with learning disabled students at Harbor School in Casselberry.
After moving to Winter Haven in 2010, Ann worked closely with the Thrift House ministry at Beymer Church and was especially proud of the ministry’s sponsorship of local elementary students.
Preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and her brother Dr. John L. Peterson, Ann is survived by her loving family: her sister Jane, her sons Rob (Audrey) and David (Brandy), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service followed by a reception will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Beymer Church in Winter Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Beymer Thrift House.
