

Anna was born in Amonate, Virginia on February 11, 1937, to Mable and Andrew Buchanan. She grew up in and graduated from Mountain Mission School, in Grundy, Virginia. She began working for AT&T shortly after graduation where she started as a switchboard operator. After 40 years of employment, she retired as a clerk in their treasury department.
As an active member of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa, Florida, she was involved in the Sunday School teaching for adults.
She enjoyed spending her time traveling with her family, doing word-search, eating sweets, cleaning and deep conversations. She never knew a stranger.
Preceded in death by her father, Andrew Buchanan; mother, Mable Smith-Buchanan; two brothers, James Buchanan and Curtis Buchanan; nephew, David Justice; grandson, Brandon Ross.
Anna is survived by her daughter, Denise (John) Trogdon; two granddaughters, Kara (Quinn) Henning and Hollie (Alex) Ross; two great-grandchildren, Eden Espasas and Ryan Henning; a sister, Dolly (Richard) Justice; two nephews, Richard (Dixie) Justice and John Justice; one great-niece and one great-nephew and 6 great-great nieces and nephews.
Final arrangements are by Baldwin Fairchild. Inurnment will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Park. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
Our family would like to give thanks to Life Care Center of Altamonte and their activity department. To Angela and her team, Yen, Sassy, Liz, Marie and Jackie, thank you for the compassionate and attentive care you provided. Allowing her daughter to volunteer alongside you while spending quality time with her mother was a blessing.
