Barbara Ann Sherwood (77), many may remember her as Barbara Rousch (and so many knew her as ‘Mom’) passed away on Monday March 28, 2016. She went on to join her oldest son, Billy to receive her much deserved ‘Angel Wings’. She was a beautiful woman inside and out, always had a smile on her face. Even through the cancer and all her chemo sessions she faced with dignity and grace never complaining, just smiling.
Barbara was born in Newark, New Jersey in 1938 then moved down to Kissimmee, Florida in 1969 where she raised her three children. She started working at Beaumont Middle School in the cafeteria when her youngest son started school. Barbara worked her way up to be the best secretary to all principals at Osceola High School, until she retired in 1995.
Barbara has been living in St. Petersburg, Florida since 2000 with her husband Rick, whom she married in 1990. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in January with a cruise. Being close to the beach and being out in the Florida sunshine and going on cruises is what she loved to do, so she went on another cruise two weeks later with her sisters, daughter, and niece. An all girl’s cruise kept her laughing 24/7.
Barbara is survived by her husband Richard, daughter Debbie(Paul), son Richard(Vicky), step-sons-Richard Jr, William, and George(Lisa), two sisters, Dot Parker(Danny), Nancy Hatzel(Allen), four nieces and nephews, Donny(Kathy), David(Kristin), Brian(Gayle), CJ(Kirsten), five grandchildren-Brandon(RyAnne), Hannah(Joel), Nicole(Ginny), Kayleigh(Kurtis) and Richard Jr., seven great nieces and nephews, and seven great-grandchildren. She loved all the family get-togethers with a house full of people.
