
Our mother, Carolyn Crawford Williams, passed from earthly life to her heavenly home on July 12, 2020. She was greeted at heaven’s gates by her husband, James H. Williams; son, Jeff and his wife, Lauren; parents, Ludie Jefferson and Beulah McRae Crawford; sister, Audie Ledbetter (Jimmy), and a host of others.
Carolyn was born in Holly Pond, Alabama on July 19, 1930. She was raised on her family farm. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the early 1950’s where she lived with her sister, Audie, and worked for Sears Roebuck and Co. Carolyn met James on a Greyhound Bus while traveling back home, a courtship ensued, and they were married on July 29, 1956.
Carolyn and James moved with the US Border Patrol to Texas and from there to Miami, Jacksonville, and finally settling in Longwood in 1971. They had 5 children, and in the early years Carolyn cared for her family and friends, always lending a hand to others whenever needed. Carolyn returned to work in1974 as a cafeteria worker for Seminole County Public Schools. She retired in 1992 and began to travel the world. Carolyn travelled throughout the United States including Alaska, Canada, Switzerland, Egypt, and the Holy Land. She spent many years traveling with friends to North Carolina, Upstate New York, and all points in between.
You could say that Carolyn’s DASH was full!
Carolyn is survived by her daughters: Jan, Jerri, Joani, Joy (Jack); sister: Joan Murray (Bill); grandchildren: John, Presley, Jason, James (Danielle), Jordan, Brittany, Jodi, Cody, Jeffrey, Caley, and Brady. Great-grandchildren: Lucus, Leland, Chloe, Herschal, Chase, Hudson, Olivia, Adeline, Douglas, Ty, Colby, and McKenzie; nephews: Dean and Shane; niece: Jeanette.
Carolyn will be missed by her many friends and extensive family.
Visitation will be held on July 27, 2020 at 10:00 am at WaterStone Church, 900 North Street, Longwood, FL. Celebration of Life will be held on July 27, 2020 at 11:00 am at WaterStone Church, 900 North Street, Longwood, FL. Committal will be held on July 27, 2020 at 12:30 pm at All Faiths Memorial Park, 1390 PARK DR, CASSELBERRY, FL.
