Dolores Furey, née Solosky of Longwood, FL, originally Garden City, New York. Dolores was born April 10, 1931 in Mineola, NY. Died peacefully in her sleep November 6, 2024. Her parents were immigrants from Poland and Austria. She graduated from SUNY Plattsburg and Queens College. Dolores taught grammar school in East Williston. She was a loving grandma to her 10 grandchildren, Nathaniel, Ian, Jane, Casey, Jack, Desmond, Harrison, Nicholas, Olivia and Mae. Dolores was an active member of St. Joseph Church and North Hills Country Club. She also was an avid bridge player and golfer and loved to tell a joke and embellish a good story. She is survived by her children James Jr.(Annemarie Siefert), Dennis (Pauline), Kathleen Tran (Tho) and Sheila O’Malley (Neil). She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years James Sr. and two children Patricia and Sean. A Funeral Mass will be held on December 7, 2024 at 9:30 am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church located at 130 Fifth St., Garden City, NY 11530.
