Ed Bishop "Brother"

Ed Bishop, 85, of Leesburg, FL passed away suddenly on July 9, 2015. Also known as “Brother,” “Uncle Brother,” “Bishop,” “Mr. B,” and various other names, Ed was born to the late Isaac and Pearl Bishop in Newberry, FL on November 24, 1929. He was preceded in passing by his first wife, Norma Bishop (1996). Together, Norma and Ed raised 2 children, Pam and Terry, and Ed cherished his family. He was known most for his consistently positive attitude despite sometimes unfortunate circumstances. Ed never knew a stranger and had a gift of telling jokes and bringing joy to others. He was a dedicated Florida Gators fan, loved to golf, camp, travel, go boating, take photos and videos, and had a thing for “gadgets.” Ed served his country in the United States Navy as part of Fighter Squadron 33. He also worked in sales for the container business, and he was good at what he did. Ed was a member of Lockhart Baptist church, as well as the American Legion, the Moose Lodge, and the VFW. He married Betty Jane “BJ” Carlile in 2000 and the two shared many wonderful times together and with their expanded family. He will be sorely missed by those who knew and loved him, but his life will be greatly celebrated and wonderful memories of him never forgotten. Ed was preceded in his passing by his first wife, Norma; and his sisters, Janie Farnsworth and Ruby Lee Kennard. He is survived by his wife, BJ; daughter Pam Overton (Danny); son Terry “Randy” Bishop (Janet); step-daughters Beth Littlefield (Scott) and Donna Mullen; grandchildren Charlie Overton, Jon Payne (Missy), Tyler Littlefield, Wyatt Littlefield, Christopher Bryant (Holly), and Jennifer Miculis (Andrew); 9 great-grandchildren; and numerous other close family members and friends. A Celebration of Ed’s Life will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Visitation will be held from 10-11:30am with a Graveside Service to follow at 12pm at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E. Semoran Blvd., Apopka, FL 32703.
