Gwendolyn Perez

Gwendolyn Perez passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the age of 62. She was a woman whose life was defined by extraordinary resilience, unwavering pride, and a spirit rooted in hard work and joy.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Gwen was the cherished daughter of the late Frankie and Maria Nuñez. From her entrepreneurial parents, she inherited a tenacity and conviction that guided her entire life. She was a proud alumna of St. Patrick’s Catholic Cathedral and Interboro Institute.

It was in her teenage years that she met her lifelong companion, the late Angel Perez, at a sweet sixteen celebration. Their deep connection was apparent from the start, and they built a life filled with music and a shared, carefree spirit.

Gwen found her professional calling as a dedicated Licensed Optician. She took immense pride in her work, finding joy in helping people achieve both clear vision and self-confidence. Known for her professionalism and lasting impression, she cultivated a loyal clientele, many of whom would personally request her expertise.

A devoted and loving matriarch, Gwen was the beloved mother of Maralysa and Ariel and the cherished grandmother to her three grandchildren Genavia, Jovani Hirangel and Gianalys. Her presence in their lives was a priceless gift, and her family is profoundly grateful for the courageous fight and extra time her strength afforded them.

Gwen lived life entirely on her own terms, following the wisdom and direction of her own heart in all matters. Her strength and positive impact will be carried forward by her surviving family.

A visitation will be held on October 26, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at Family Funeral Care, located at 13001 South John Young Pkwy, Orlando, FL 32837.

The funeral service will follow on the same day, October 26, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, also at Family Funeral Care.

A committal service is scheduled for October 27, 2025, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Winter Garden Cemetery North, located on Lake Butler Blvd, Winter Garden, FL 34787.
