Uncle Howie’s memorial service this weekend was so special! Pathfinders - you did an amazing job from the violinist, pianist, changing of the guards (seamlessly) to the pathfinder flag transfer.
Chico, your voice has always been distinct to me. I could hear and feel the love you have for Howie. There was never a time I don’t recall hearing you both laughing while in each others company. I love that memory.
Grandchildren (pall bearers), so incredibly proud of each of you. I look forward to meeting you at our next family reunion. I have so many stories to share ♥️
Jeffrey - You don’t know me. I’d like to first thank you for your services. Your presenting of the flag is one of the most notable gestures you could possibly give. Thank you! God Bless our country and you!!
I don’t know what to tell you kids. Your parents, grandma and grandpa mean the world to me.
Hugs will be a little longer and stronger the next time we see each other. That’s what this family does, even if you don’t know who’s hugging you :)
Lastly, the livestream at the church was flawless! Thank you, whomever it is, for doing such an amazing job. Panning through the church and seeing familiar faces, explaining to my young girls who most everyone is, was priceless. For those of us that couldn’t make it, it very much felt as though we could’ve been sitting there next to our love ones, holding their hands. So Special.
All my love,

I'm so so sorry I was out of the country when Howie passed and missed the service. I considered Howie a best friend. We had many things in common primarily we lived for our families. I know Howie and Maria did a wonderful job in bringing up their family. He had the very close ties with family and I respected him for that. We'd have lunch abut every 3 weeks and I am going to miss him terribly. I know he is in a better place but I will selfishly miss him and will think about him daily as long as I live. God Bless Howie's family through this very difficult time.

To my beloved Randy, Karen and Elaine: I have so much to say about how much Howie and Maria, and you three meant to me. I will never, ever forget the day you folks opened your home to me and take me in for the whole summer at your house. Randy became my roommate for the summer as I was going through my third year of College and fulfilling my pastoral internship at the Spanish SDA church. Every afternoon, it didn’t matter how tired Howie would be coming from work, he will always managed to smile and say to me: “Hi Danny, how was your day?” ... I can see him right now coming through the front door. Maria and Howie treated me like another son, Doña Lola would faithfully cook and place my food so kindly on the table every afternoon. Howie’s Sense of humor was amazing, and he always managed to bring up the funny traits of other folks characters that were indeed funny. I remember when he cried upon “Buffy’s” dead, the small and smart little poodle you folks had. His wedding present for Mica and I was to pay the church fee for our wedding at the Altamonte Springs Church. We will be forever grateful. I have so much more to share but all I can do is to remind you Randy, Karen and Elaine, we will see Howie and Mary again, soon, very soon upon Jesus’ return. Just be faithful so you Three and I can embrace together when Howie and Mary come up from their graves. I know that they will be looking for you so let’s promise each other to get ready to see them again upon Jesus’ return to earth. I wish I could be there with you folks tomorrow to place Howie to rest, but my mind will be and I will be praying for strenght for you. Hang on kids, your big brother Danny here reminds you: ‘Our redemption draweth nigh.” Let’s meet in heaven. There we will see Maria, Howie, and Doña Lola again. Randy, Karen, Elaine and all of the closed ones that are part of the Baez clan. I love you! —Pastor Dan and Milca Pabón (Danny for all of you).

Oh my dear sweet Daddy! Thank you for always making our summers full of adventure and taking us on trips frequently to the Smokey Mountains. Because of you, I will continue to show my children the beauty of nature. Life without you (and mom) will be lonely for sure. I am grateful to have wonderful Uncles to remind me of you! I will also never erase your voicemails so I can always hear your loving voice. Love you forever, Daddy!

Howie was my friend and co-worker. We ate lunch together 5 days a week for 18 years. He was my confidant. When I had a bad day he would make me laugh and cheer me up. He was a tough sort of man who did not let his health get him down. He fought all the way to the end. He was kind hearted and even at the end when he talked to me his first question was to ask how I am and tell me he was worried about me. He loved his family so very much. Everyday we shared stories to each other about things going on in our lives and I grew to know his wife and loved her. I also grew to know his children and grandchildren from his many stories. He has the most awesome support system from his family.
