James W. Walsh, 96, of Longwood, FL passed away July 5, 2017. Born in Johnstown, PA in 1920. Preceded in passing by his parents, his beloved wife of 70 years Mary L. Walsh, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and 1 grandson. He and his wife moved to Florida from Maryland in 1983 after retiring from the federal government. He was an Army Air Corps veteran in WWII serving in the U.S., France, and Germany in ground support. Jim was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church in Apopka. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree, and the VFW. Jim was a devoted, honest, kind, and honorable man who will be deeply missed by those closest to him. He is survived by his 3 daughters, Patricia, Kathleen (John), and Mary; 8 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 11 from 6-8pm at Baldwin Fairchild West Altamonte, 90 Weathersfield Ave., Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. Funeral Mass to follow Wednesday, July 12 at 11am at St. Francis of Assisi, 834 S Orange Blossom Trl, Apopka, FL 32703. Burial at Highland Memory Gardens, Apopka, FL.
