Jeanne R. Tauscher

Jeanne Rogers Tauscher, was born May 29, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio and passed away in Maitland, Florida on September 26, 2020 at the age of 86 years. Her family moved to Winter Park in 1946 when she was 12 years old. In that same year, she began dating her future husband, Don Tauscher whom she met at Winter Park Junior High School. Upon their graduation from Rollins College, the two were married in 1955 and Jeanne began teaching History at Winter Park High School. Don and Jeanne remained active members of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church throughout their lives and Jeanne worked with families and children there as well at the Catholic Diocese of Orlando. The couple have four children. Together, the family provided an interim home for 16 foster infants awaiting adoption. They developed familial ties with several families they helped sponsor through their transition and journey to U.S. citizenship. Jeanne was a force of nature – fun, engaged, caring, and capable. She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren, brothers, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, and large extended family. But none more than Don, her beloved husband and life partner. Jeanne is survived by husband, Don Tauscher as well as children and spouses: Heidi Tauscher & Ray Fannon, Brett & Carol Tauscher, Katy Piumelli & David Rhodes, Paul & Lisa Tauscher. She also is succeeded by seven grandchildren: Joshua Tauscher, Nicholas Piumelli, Michael Piumelli, Brittany Tauscher, Abigail Tauscher, and Carrington Tauscher as well as two great-grandchildren Athena Tauscher and Zelda Tauscher. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Tiffany Tauscher.
