

Joe was survived by sons Edward, Robert, and Andrew, granddaughters MaryAnn Howell, Amy DeeAnna Cearley, Katie Willis, Nikki Burris, Michelle Foster, grandson Ryan Willis, numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his wife, Ruth, his daughter Phyllis Harper, and grandson Dwight Cearley. He was the last surviving sibling.
Joe enlisted in the army at an early age, serving his country in the Korean War and World War II. After retiring with honors from the service in 1962, Joe moved his family to Rossmore Drive in Orlando where he and Ruth provided a loving home for his children and many grandchildren. He retired again from the postal service in 1989 and he and Ruth moved to Zellwood Station. They both enjoyed playing golf and the social activities there. Joe and Ruth enjoyed holiday visits from all the family and relatives from afar.
A visitation for Joe will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 90 WEATHERSFIELD AVE, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL 32714. A funeral service will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM, 90 WEATHERSFIELD AVE, ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, FL 32714. A committal service will occur Saturday, March 12, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Highland Memory Gardens, 3329 E Semoran Blvd, Apopka, FL 32703.
In lieu of flowers and in memory of Dwight “Dickie” Cearley the family has asked that donations be made to ALS Foundation, Florida Chapter.
