Joy went to the University of Florida and received a teaching degree. She met her husband Dale at UF. They were married in 1959. They had two children, Glynis and David.
She enjoyed teaching and taught for 38 years for Marion County School System. The majority of her teaching career was with the 3rd grade. She made many friends during her career and was always outgoing.
Following the death of her husband, Dale, she met Charles Row Jr. to whom she was married in 1999. They lived in Maitland, Florida and were members of Asbury United Methodist Church. She was the oldest member of the United Methodist Church in Reddick, Florida.
Joy is survived by her husband, Charles; children, Glynis and David; grandchildren, Dale and Gwen; and step-children, Dave, Lindsay, Alison, and Meredith.
