Thomson and Olive (Swanson) Thomson. He lived his early years during WWII with his Mother and
Grandparents Edwin E. and Olive D. Swanson in Chicago, Il and later in Manson, IA, where he always
considered home. Ken was a 1958 high school graduate of Morgan Park Military Academy in Chicago, IL,
and soon after enlisted in the US Army as an airplane mechanic. He served with distinction in Germany
until just after the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. Ken graduated in 1966 from Buena Vista College in

Iowa, Illinois and Florida Bar Associations. In 1993 he moved to Altamonte Springs, FL to begin his legal
practice as a prominent business transaction attorney until his death.
Ken was a gentleman in all respects with a very strong constitution and infectious smile. He was an
extremely loyal and generous friend, who always found good in every person and situation. In his law
practice he loved to see people start into business with the thrill of entrepreneurship in their eyes. Ken
will be dearly missed by friends and family.
He was an avid historian of WWII and authored A Case of Treason in honor of his Father Burton, an early
casualty of WWII on Corregidor in the Philippines.
Sail boating was his passionate hobby, owning many sailboats over the years. He enjoyed plying the
waters of the Great Lakes and Caribbean.
Reunited with friend Pamela Russell late in life, he became Grandpa to her grandchildren, who loved
him as much as he loved that role.
Ken will be put to rest at a later date in Rose Hill Cemetery, Manson, IA in a private ceremony.
