

Raymond Murrell Garrett, Jr., 69, of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away suddenly on January 2, 2016. Ray was born to the late Raymond Murrell, Sr. and Jean Garrett on August 12 in Hopewell, VA. Though born in Virginia, Ray was raised in Miami. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War in the United States Army, 101st Airborne. Ray was a salesman for various products and services throughout his lifetime, notably landscaping and telecommunications. He moved to the Orlando area in 2006. Ray was a family man. He adored his grandchildren and shared many wonderful memories with them. He also enjoyed fishing, and of course his teams, the Miami Dolphins and the Hurricanes. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten, by those who knew and loved him. Ray was preceded in his passing by his parents. He is survived by his sons, Raymond Murrell Garrett III (Emily), Eric Dewane Garrett (Janelle), and Ryan Henry Garrett (Jessica); daughters, Kimberly Ann Skipper and Amanda Colleen Garrett; ex-wife and lifelong friend, Mary Garrett; brother, Eddie Garrett (Valerie); sisters, Judy Buis (Honorable Steve Buis), Annette Driggers (Bill), and Robin Henss (David); grandchildren Ashely McLemore, Marilyn Garrett, Alex Tirado, Silas Garrett, Katelyn Garrett, Gideon Garrett, and one on the way, Rose Garrett; as well as many other close family and friends.
