

A loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He was born in Charleston,
Arkansas on May 22, 1925. He graduated from University of Arkansas with a Bachelors degree
in Chemical Engineering. He served in The United States Army during World War II and was
deployed overseas during wartime. Bob had a 30 year career in Propulsion Engineering at
Martin Marietta where he worked on some very interesting projects. He was a member of the
Rams Club at Martin where he served as editor of their newsletters. He had a passion for
cruising, air shows and anything World War II era, especially ships “not boats” and aircraft. He
loved books and the gaining of knowledge. He was devoted to helping out with the local Habitat
for Humanity projects and was a devoted Catholic parishioner.
Bob has joined his loving wife of 63 years, Gladys Classen, his parents and one sibling, Lucy
Adams, in the Kingdom of Heaven. Bob is survived by his daughter, Faith Baldwin, who is
married to Scott Baldwin. He has three grandchildren. Tara Candelore married to Joseph
Candelore, Erica Cutts married to Andrew Cutts and Kyle Baldwin who is married to Amanda
Baldwin. He has 4 great-grandchildren: Kylie (16), Garrett (9) (Candelore’s), Austin (5) and
Abigail (3) (Cutts). His brother, Matthew Classen, from Kansas and sister, Ruth Prochaska,
from Texas.
Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 24th at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in
Altamonte Springs at 11:30 am. Directly after mass, his internment will be held at Glen Haven
Memorial Park in Winter Park.
