

Winifred (Winnie) Louise Dixon 11/1/1919 – 5/9/2015 As the last of 7, she was born, Winifred Louise Baker, in Westmoreland, Jamaica W.I. on November 1st, 1919 and lived a positive and fulfilling life until she was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday May 9th 2015. Winnie was a school teacher in Jamaica and was married to the late Lyndell Hooper with whom she had her only child, in 1950. She migrated to the United States in 1966 where she studied at New York University in New York City and earned her Master’s degree in Sociology. In 1970, she re-married to the late Oswald Dixon and lived in Queens Village, New York. They then moved to Altamonte Springs, Florida in 1976 where she worked with the Government until retirement in 1985. She continued to nurture and guide her family with love and wisdom until her final journey home. She is survived by: Daughter & husband: Maureen Anderson and Willie Fedrick Step-Daughter: Hyacinth Seale Granddaughter & husband: Tameka Anderson and Jonathan (Hasan) Richmond Grandson & wife: Michael and Kasey McCan Great Granddaughter: Gabrielle Anderson-Rhymer Great Grandsons: Kiyani, Kilan & Kiymari Anderson-Rhymer Great Great Grandson: Tahj Anderson-Gordon Deceased: Brothers: Uriel, Cyril, Alvin and Vered Baker Sisters: Gertrude (Icy) Sims and Lilly Baker She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and other family members
