Burial will be at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East.
Andy was born May 26, 1929 in Pikeville, Kentucky to Andrew and Maxie Burke. After graduating from Pikeville High School, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. Later, he graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon with a Bachelor of Business Education and a minor in English. Most of his working life was spent as the Supervisor of the Technical Standards Division at the Pantex plant near Amarillo. He retired in 1994. He met his wife of sixty years Autry Barron, in Amarillo at a Training Union Class at First Baptist Church while he was stationed at the Amarillo Air Force Base. They married on December 23, 1953, and made their home in Amarillo. Andy loved to hunt and fish. He grew many delicious tomatoes and other garden vegetables. He also enjoyed coaching his sons in Kids, Inc., basketball. He was a loving and kind husband, father, and grandfather. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Amarillo, and attended the Reaching Out Sunday School Class. His final years were spent at Ware Living Center where he thoroughly enjoyed the people and activities. One of his special ministries was taking pictures and printing the copies on his computer for the residents and staff. Andy is survived by his wife Autry; two daughters Andrea Burke; Connie Dickerson and husband Rusty; two sons; Danny Burke and wife Sara; Jeff Burke and wife Michelle. Five grandsons; Caleb Dickerson and wife Stormy; great- granddaughter to be born in March; Ben, John-Daniel Burke; Logan; and Nicholas Burke.
