Betty Debey

Born on April 24, 1932, in Childress, Texas, to William and Freddie DeShazo, Betty grew up in Childress, where she attended public school. She married Sammie Harris, and together they raised three wonderful sons: Bill, Russell, and Sammy. Family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She married Robert Province in 1980, and shared a wonderful life with him until his passing in 2003. They were known together as Grandma and Grandpa Bear to the grandchildren and cousins of grandchildren.

Betty was known for her kindness, love, and generosity. She always lent a hand to those in need, asking for nothing in return. Her passion for cooking brought family and friends together, creating countless cherished memories.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, John, Joe, and Jackie DeShazo; and her husbands, Robert Province, and Bill Debey.

Betty is survived by her sons: Bill Harris, Russell Harris and spouse Ron Barak, and Sammy Harris and spouse Teresa. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Steven Harris, Monica Allen and spouse Chris, and Thomas Harris and spouse Lauren. Her great-grandchildren, Cael, Ryland, and Jace Allen, Logan, Luke, and Isla Harris, along with many other loving family and friends, will also carry her memory in their hearts.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 5-7 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at 10 AM, with Pastor Joel Favela officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Betty's honor.
