Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 06, 2019 from 5pm to 7pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home; 6969 E. Interstate 40. Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, August 07, 2019 at 10am in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born in Wortham on November 8, 1932 to William and Ida Sterling. Mr. Sterling proudly served his country in both the National Guard for 3 years and the US Navy for 4 years. He was a veteran of the Korean War and has received numerous medals. He was baptized on July 4, 1976 at the First Baptist Church of Bastrop. Billy played on the semi-pro Amarillo Gold Sox Baseball Team. He retired from Butterkrust Bakery.
He loved and supported his family beyond words. He had an infectious smile, sense of humor and laugh that will surely be missed!
Survivors include wife Aremilda (June) Sterling of 51 years, daughter Patricia Anderson of Amarillo, daughter Paula McCarley and husband Clay of Alice, son Preston Haberman and fiancée Kelly Ann of Amarillo, daughter Nina Jones and husband DJ of Elephant Butte New Mexico, son Billy Sterling and wife Tasha of Austin, sister Carol Ann Johnson and husband Pete of Dripping Springs, sister Letha Spakes of Bastrop and numerous beloved grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, son Rusty Haberman, and brother William Sterling Jr.
