Heaven gained a new resident in Carole Sue Perryman on July 18, 2021. She was born February 9, 1942 to Johnie and Goley Mae Lanier in Amarillo, Texas and had one brother, Harold Lanier. Carole graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1960. She married Jack Perryman of Sevierville, Tennessee in 1960. They had two children Dana Lopez and Bryan Perryman both of Amarillo, Texas.
Carole worked at the USDA agricultural research center in Bushland, Texas for 20 years before retiring. She was very proud of the accomplishments she made in her occupation and loved going to work. She really enjoyed the challenge her position brought her. Often, she would have to plan trips for the scientists in different countries and change money from one currency to another, this being one of her favorite tasks. Coworkers described her as diligent, funny, and a real asset.
After retirement, she and Jack were able to travel in their RV for several years. They were part of the Good Sam’s group in which she had many titles over the years. Traveling was one of Carole’s favorite things to do. After Jack passed in 2015, Carole continued to travel with her granddaughters and friends.
Jack and Carole were married for 55 years. They spent these years deeply in love and in constant friendship. They told those around them for relationships to work it needed a firm foundation in honesty, communication and equal participation. They would gaze deeply into each other’s eyes and those around could feel the complete adoration each one had for the other. Their love was true love.
Carole joined multiple groups and served her community after retirement. God gave her the gifts of kindness and caring. She would use these two gifts to serve in the senior citizens group, prayer groups, and many others. In her final months she missed her friends dearly from each group. She would speak of wanting to go to church to praise God, and her deep wish to be with her friends. Carole was a diligent, faithful member of the Church at Quail Creek for 37 years. She was a happy member of the Abigail Women’s group.
Carole had a faith that was a force to be reckoned with. Anytime she had a chance to learn something new about the Bible or to be taught a new aspect of something she already knew from the Bible, she jumped at the opportunity. Anytime a family member would come by for advice, it was not unusual for her to pull out multiple books that told everything the Bible had to say for that subject. Her main goal in life was to bring those around her close to God so that she would see them again in Heaven.
She is survived in death by her daughter Dana Lopez, husband George Lopez, of Amarillo. Dana‘s children Matthew Perryman of Amarillo, Lara Perryman of Denver, Colorado, and Kayla Mabery, husband Mikel Mabery, of Amarillo. Her son Bryan Perryman, wife Krissa Perryman, of Amarillo. Bryan‘s children Justin Perryman, wife Breanna Perryman of White Deer, Tyler Perryman, wife Cassandra Perryman of Borger, Keeley Brown, Kailyn Brown, and Kenzi Brown of Amarillo. She also has 11 great grandchildren. She will also be deeply missed by the family pets.
Services celebrating Carole's life will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, July 29, 2021 at the Church at Quail Creek.
