Charles “Chuck” Casida, 83, of Amarillo, passed away on April 25, 2023. Graveside services are scheduled for 10am, Monday, May 1, 2023, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo, with Dr. Hal Rogers officiating.
Charles was born on April 29, 1939, in Hobart, Oklahoma, to Madison Casida and Jewel Currey. He graduated from Duncan High School in 1958. He later served in the United States Army. Charles married his wife, Jessie Casida, and together they shared 57 years of marriage. Charles studied drafting from Amarillo College. He was an avid lover of fishing at the Amistad Reservoir. Charles was also very skilled in his craft with fixing things. He could fix just about anything, especially anything to do with home improvements and building engines. He was a wonderful husband and loved his two sons and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a very proud “Papaw”.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jessie Casida; Two sons, Charles Tyler Casida and wife, Debbie, of Canyon, Texas, and Terrel Casida and wife, M’Shell, of Amarillo, Texas; Brother, Jerry Casida; Sister, Eva Russell; Several grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests charitable donations be made to Heal the City of Amarillo.
