Charles Dudley “Buster” Holman, 89, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, January 24, 2019.
The family will receive guests in the Memorial Park Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40; on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at 10:00 am in the Chapel of Memories with Pastor Lyndal Waldrip presiding. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Charles D. “Buster” Holman was born May 25, 1929 in Amarillo, Texas to Dud and Ena Holman. He married the love of his life Emma Jean Lill on June 30, 1950. Buster and Jean had four children. Buster was a loving and hardworking husband and father. He loved boxing and was on the Amarillo High boxing team and was a Golden Gloves Champion in the late 1940’s. He enjoyed spending time with family participating in watersports. Later in life, Buster developed a passion for golf and was actively involved with the Lake Tanglewood course by serving on the Board of Directors and helping with various construction projects. Buster was always willing to help others in need with his amazing handyman skills. He will be missed by his family, fellow golfers and all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Bob, and his loving wife of 68 years, Jean.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children Dan Holman, Don Holman and wife Kathy, James Holman and wife Vickie, and Cindy Giebel. Eight grandchildren Shawn Holman, Eric Holman, Joshua Goolsby, Zachary Holman, Jeremiah Holman, Dylan Holman, Kyle Bradley, and Kyla Applegate; ten great grandchildren and many other loving family members.
