The family will receive guests on Thursday, December 06, 2018 from 6pm to 8pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 Interstate 40 in Amarillo. A celebration of her life will be held on Friday, November 07, 2018 in the Chapel of Memories with Pastor Jerry Davey presiding.
Charlotte was born on September 14, 1932 in Weatherly, Texas to Haskel and Irene Weatherly. As a child, her family taught her the value of hard work. She was raised on a cotton farm in Wheeler, Texas working with not only her parents, but her three brothers as well. She graduated from Wheeler High School in 1950. During her high school years, she enjoyed playing basketball. On November 07, 1952, she married Charles Allen Pond at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler. Together, they raised two wonderful boys. She would often joke about how they came to have their sons. In 1971, they adopted Gary and Terry, and referred to them as their “two for one special”. She was a wonderful home maker, and an outstanding mother. She was a member of the Church at Quail Creek for more than a decade. She enjoyed quilting, cooking, and sewing as favorite pastimes.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, and her brother Lloyd. Those left to cherish her memory are her brothers Kirby and Tony; sons Gary, Terry and wife Deanna; grandchildren Casey, Tori, Zachary and Skyler; and great-grandchild Leon.
