

Charlsie Lee “Phoebe” Claborn, 96 of Amarillo went to be with the Lord on June 6, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012 at Central Baptist Church, 1601 S.W. 58th with Jerald Chadwick, Pastor officiating. Mrs. Claborn will be laid to rest at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Dimmit under the direction of Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors following her service. Charlsie Lee “Phoebe” Claborn was born November 24, 1915 in Klondike, Texas to Charles and Martha Key. She married T.D. Claborn on September 25, 1932 in Tishamingo, Oklahoma. They moved to Dimmitt in 1947 and lived there until moving to Amarillo in 2005. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Dimmitt. Phoebe enjoyed gardening, fishing and taking care of her home. She loved being with her family and friends. Phoebe enjoyed watching wrestling and watching Nascar. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be truly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, T.D. Claborn; her sons, Billy Joe Clayborn and Gary Claborn; and by two grandchildren, Danny Clayborn and Saundra Smith. She is survived by her grandchildren, Dennis Clayborn of Quinlan, Texas, Sherri Tickner and husband Mark of Amarillo, Karen Claborn of Frenchburg, Kentucky, Debbie Stanton and husband Mark of Conway, Arkansas, and Vicki Clayborn of Conway, Arkansas; also by 12 great-granchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-great-grandchild. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
