Contessa “Monkey Butt” Perry, age 45 passed away on January 21, 2026, in Plainview, Texas, Contessa brought light and laughter into the world from the very beginning. Contessa was a woman of vibrant spirits and unwavering honesty. She had a gift for telling it like it is- especially when it came to fashion advice.
Her candid opinions were legendary among those who knew her, often turning a shopping trip into an unforgettable experience. But beneath that honesty was a heart full of love-dee, fierce and enduring.
Her greatest joy in life was her granddaughter Ezra, affectionally known as “Monkey”. Time spent with Ezra brought Contessa immeasurable happiness and purpose. Their bond was the heartbeat of her days and the brightest part of her world.
Contressa also expressed herself through art. Her paintings were never created for profit but rather as gifts meant to bring joy to others. If smiles could be measured in wealth Contessa would have been among the richest- her generosity and warmth left lasting impressions on all who received one of her creations.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughter Xmanthious Newhouse; granddaughter Ezra Newhouse; mother and stepfather Debbie and Floyd Brannon; father and stepmother Donny and Tina Perry; brothers Jason Perry, Christopher Perry and Stephen Austin; nieces Kadince Perry; Kataleya Austin; Kalina Austin; Nikola Perry; and Shea Perry; nephews Damon Perry and Hunter Perry.
Contessa is preceded in death by her grandparents Earnest and Donna Perry and Delbert and Doris Stewart.
Her family reflects on the time they shared with her- 45 years, 8 months and 2 days- as the best parts of their lives. Her legacy lives on in every honest word spoken with love, every painting given with joy and every smile she inspired. May hr memory bring comfort to those who knew her.
