Frank L. Maier

He enlisted in the Air Force in August of 1954. After his basic training he was stationed at Amarillo Air Force Base. He met the love of his life Mary at a USO dance, in March of 1957 and they married in August of the same year. He and Mary had two daughters Cynthia and Diana. During his time in the Air Force they were stationed at 8 different bases over his 22 year enlistment. Upon retirement in October of 1976 they moved to Amarillo where they lived until their passings.

After retirement he worked for three different gas companies repairing gas pumps. They later traveled with Texas Baptist Men Retiree Builders. He loved helping others however he could. They traveled until Mary’s health declined. He spent the next few years by her side daily until her passing in 2018. He was a member of South Georgia Baptist Church for many years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother and sister, and his dear wife Mary.

He is survived by his daughters Cynthia Jensen and husband Shawn of Cullowhee, North Carolina, Diana Griffin and husband David of Amarillo, Texas. Six grandchildren Brenda Koehn and husband Mike of Amarillo, Shannon Shelton and wife Jamie of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Nicki Meza and husband Joseph of Amarillo, Stephanie Shelton of Amarillo, Amanda Hogg and husband Matt of Lamesa, Texas, Eight great grandchildren and many loving family members.

A visitation for Frank L. will be held Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I- 40 E, Amarillo, Texas 79118. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 10:00 AM, 6969 I- 40 E, Amarillo, Texas 79118. A burial will occur Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Park Cemetery, 6969 I- 40 E, Amarillo, Texas 79118.
