Fred “Bob” Blackwell, 86, of Amarillo died Wednesday, June 8, 2016. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with T.C. Messer officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 Interstate 40 East. Arrangements are by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East.
Bob was born April 5, 1930, in Oklahoma to Glen and Josie Blackwell. He married Nellie Winchester on June 6, 1966. They were married for 50 wonderful years. Bob worked for Santa Fe Railroad for 46 years. He belonged to Range Riders and loved Ranch life. Bob also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his little poodle Dusty.
Bob was a great man who loved his family and he will be forever missed.
He was preceded in death by one child. Survivors include his wife, Nellie Blackwell; seven children; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
