

Grace Edna Maloney, 94 of Amarillo passed away on June 21, 2012. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Llano Cemetery with Rev. Bob Miller officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors. Grace Edna Maloney was born June 11, 1918 in Amarillo to James and Grace Reese. She was called home by her father on June 21, 2012. Grace graduated from Amarillo High School. She was a devout Baptist who loved her family, bowling, crosswords and her companion cat, “Baby”. Grace had a quick sense of humor and a sharp mind that will be sorely missed. She retired from Northwest Texas Hospital after many years of service. To those that were especially close to Grace, she leaves this earth with the following quote, “I have lived my life and have taken my own advice and decided TO GET OUTTA HERE!!” Grace was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Conrad Delbert Maloney; brothers, James Gordon Reese and William Aubrey Reese and one sister, Martha Jaunice Dunn. Grace is survived by sons, Delbert Wayne Maloney and wife Sandra of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Jeffrey Lynn Maloney and wife Portia of Dallas; sister, Dorothy Woods and husband Hobart of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Del Wayne Maloney, Jennifer Linn Maloney, Paul Brandon Maloney, Marli Maloney and Mandon Maloney; seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and dear friends. The family wants to extend a special thanks to Hospice Care of the Southwest for their care and loving spirit, and also to Grace’s two “Special Caregivers”, her niece Gayle and “adopted granddaughter”, Leslie.
